WHAT TO EXPECT
When you first pull up to our location on Garland Road, don’t let our building determine what you think our church is all about. A red brick structure with huge white pillars may bring back memories of going to church with your grandmother and singing song #185 from the hymnal with words you couldn’t pronounce let alone understand.
Although the roots of First Family church is grounded in the traditional beliefs of our early church fathers, we believe that the methods used to worship God can evolve with society, as long as we continue to declare Biblical truth.
You will probably hear music that is contemporary, not wrapped up in a particular song or style, but passionately expressed by people who owe everything they are to what God has done in their lives. You will find a diverse group of people that are bound together as a family of God, appreciating the ethnic differences in the various cultures represented. You might see a small business owner in a suit, a teenager in jeans, or a young mother in flip flops. And you will definitely sense the presence of God moving in a very loving group of people. No matter what see on the outside, we hope you see Christ living through us.
A YEAR OF LEGACY
Pastor Ogle has declared this year to be a year of Legacy. This year we are praying that God restore what the devil has taken away in your family, and your inheritance. This year we will be honoring God for the blessings He has given us, as well as living in the legacy which Jesus Christ made possible for us. Join us this month as we examine what the Legacy God has given for us means for our life.
THE JOURNEY: THE BOOK OF JAMES
Jonathan will be leading us through a very practical study of the book of James. Have you been dealing with trials in your life? Perpetual Sin? How do we become a doer of the Word and not just a hearer? Join us on Wednesday nights at 7pm for this series.
MAKE ME A VOICE: WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
God created every single one of us to be a voice to our generation; we are meant to make a difference in the world around us. This conference has a passionate message and is entitled ‘Make Me A Voice’ and features Special Speaker Judy Russell. This is a two day event beginning Friday, February 26th at 7:00pm (Registration begins at 6:30 pm) and Saturday, February 27th 9:00—5:00 pm (Continental Breakfast begins at 8:00 am) Registration Fee is $20. HIGH VOLTAGE STUDENT MINISTRY
Make sure your teenager is plugged into our student ministry on Wednesday Nights at 7pm. Justin and Cara Schmidt have monthly activities to help your teen feel comfortable getting involved.
CHARTER SCHOOL NOW OPEN
First Family Church Charter School is now open! You can still register your child in the middle of the year but remember space is limited. We are believing for 100 students by the end of the year and we are already over 70! Remember this is an alternative to public schools where your child can get the attention and training they deserve in a loving atmosphere. Charter Schools are paid for by the state so that means it is completely free to you.
